candied colors dance like confetti,
in the air,
to the ground
they find their way over the pillow and onto my hair
catching my eye
catching my eye (as they swing by)
if I could dance with their brilliance
never stopping,
revealing the light I feel
moving swiftly, lightly,
with freedom and not without passion
they don’t forget about the darkest corners
I can see these celestial shards
sneaking up, to flicker up and over my stomach
I remember that
shifty nimble radiance brings me home
I let them cover my skin in their spectacle
tattooing me with their celebration
recreating the marvel, the sensation
suspended in a moment, flash and bursting
mobile beauty
and memory transport
carry me off in your dappled ballet
